Lent is a time dedicated to prayer, fasting and reflection in preparation for the Celebration of Christ’s Paschal Mystery in the Easter Triduum. This year as we are in a pandemic Ashes will be Blessed on Sunday and will be available in the Church on Ash Wednesday. “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” Prayer for Ash Wednesday Merciful Father, You reminded us of the true meaning of repentance. As this Holy Season of Lent begins, turn our hearts towards you. Let the mark of ashes remind us through out the season of this call to conversion. May our repentance be truthful and sincere. May our prayer be open to your guidance and grace. May our alms giving be generous and without strings or restrictions. In the name of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ,we pray. Amen. Prayer for Spiritual Communion. My Jesus I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I Love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my Soul. Since I cannot, at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if you were already there and unity myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
